In December 2021, MariaDB announced its new release model: quarterly releases with a one-year maintenance period of each release. MariaDB 10.6 is the last database version that falls under the old release model and has a five-year maintenance period (long-term support).
Certain users report that Parallels does not run FSX as well as Boot Camp. User "K1PC", wrote on the Parallels forum (forum.parallels.com) that, "FSX is the really the only thing I use in Parallels, I don't have to do any further upgrades. (But) I get much better performance when I boot into Windows (in Boot Camp)... and, I have better use of my monitors."
Nevertheless, keep in mind that if you visit developer.apple.com/downloads, you can only find 10.3-10.6 OS X operating systems there. Newer versions are not available because starting Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.7, the App Store has become the only source of updating Apple OS versions.
I am considering a purchase of a MacBook Air 13 inch, that comes with Lion 10.7 OS. I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro with 12 years of Quicken 2006 for the Mac data on it running 10.6 Leopard. Will I be able to partition off part of the MacBook Air hard drive & install 10.6 Leopard & install the Quicken App to run my data & continue to use it. This may be especially challenging without an optical disc drive on the MacBook Air. Would Parallels be an easier fix?ThanksSteve
We know quite a few users running SOLIDWORKS successfully on a Mac, and SOLIDWORKS has recently updated their system requirements to include virtualisation such as parallels. However, the limit of this support is that although it will install, it may not run well as Macs rarely have supported graphics cards.
If you have a newish iMac (mine is Mid-2011 with Lion) the Snow Leopard Retail DVD may not work depending on how old it is. I was using an original 10.6 DVD and was getting Unsupported CPU errors. Luckily, I had a grey 10.6.7 DVD that came with another Mid-2011 iMac that is working. d2c66b5586
